I went to Doctor Abbasi after going to physical therapy for 30 sessions for a medial meniscus tear. The physical therapy definitely helped build strength but still had reduced range of motion and pain for my sport activity which is dancing (ballet, jazz). I wanted to give physical therapy a chance before considering PRP. After speaking with Dr Abbasi who is expertly knowledgeable, I decided to do my first round of PRP. It truly was a breeze, thanks to his medical assistants Karla and Kayla who assisted. Doctor Abassi is a pro at doing PRP. For me, it was as easy as getting a flu shot.. I went back a month later for follow up and concluded my improvement was about 50 to 60% better for pain and overall mobility. I can now sit down in a squat position with both knees to put on my dog’s leash as well as do some yoga movements which I could not do before like a yogi squat. I also have more mobility in my affected knee during dance classes. Dr. Abassi explained that a second round of PRP would likely benefit based on the many patients he has seen and also his own personal experience with PRP. Although there are no guarantees, I feel that it’s worth it in the long run for my quality of life and being able to continue my passion for dance In my retirement. I had my second PRP today and hoping for even more improvement. The office is impeccable and the staff caring and competent. Worth looking into especially if your injury is holding you back from what you love to do or affecting daily routine.

An Orthopedic Surgeon Who Tries Not to Operate
Most people who come to PRIME Orthopedics & Regenerative Center with a knee or shoulder problem are not looking for an operation. They are looking for the treatment that helps them return to what they stopped doing — the morning run, the gym, lifting a grandchild, sleeping through the night. The practice's approach starts there.
David Abbasi, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Because Dr. Abbasi also performs surgery, he can assess when an operation is likely to help and when a non-surgical approach is more appropriate.
We offer everything from conservative care to surgery — and we try, always, not to operate.
What a First Visit Is
An examination by Dr. Abbasi, a review of any imaging you bring, and a straight conversation about what your joint actually needs. The consultation is intended to determine which treatment, if any, is appropriate. Many people leave with a plan that involves no procedure at all.
What Conservative Care Includes
- Changing how you load the joint.
- Physical therapy, with a program written for you.
- Bracing, where it helps.
- Anti-inflammatory medicines, for a period.
- A steroid injection, where it is the right tool.
- A regenerative injection, where it is the right step.
Regenerative Injections, Performed Here
Three, each performed in the office by Dr. Abbasi.
PRP is prepared from a small draw of your own blood, in about an hour. It is often the first step.
Stem cell injections use either donated umbilical cord tissue or cells concentrated from your own bone marrow. That page describes what a visit involves.
Exosome therapy uses a donor-derived preparation, supplied ready for use. That page describes what it involves.
If Surgery Is Ever the Right Course
Surgery is considered only after the conservative options, and it is performed by Dr. Abbasi. Knee · Shoulder · Elbow · Ankle
Questions People Ask
Do I need to be considering surgery to be seen here?
No. Many patients come for an assessment or an injection rather than an operation. The practice offers everything from conservative care to surgery, and surgery comes last.
Will I be pushed toward an injection?
No. The consultation is an examination and a conversation; the plan is whatever fits what your joint actually needs.
Do you take insurance?
Most PPO plans are accepted for consultations and surgical care. Regenerative injections are paid for directly. Please call the office to confirm what applies to your plan.
