I went to Doctor Abbasi after going to physical therapy for 30 sessions for a medial meniscus tear. The physical therapy definitely helped build strength but still had reduced range of motion and pain for my sport activity which is dancing (ballet, jazz). I wanted to give physical therapy a chance before considering PRP. After speaking with Dr Abbasi who is expertly knowledgeable, I decided to do my first round of PRP. It truly was a breeze, thanks to his medical assistants Karla and Kayla who assisted. Doctor Abassi is a pro at doing PRP. For me, it was as easy as getting a flu shot.. I went back a month later for follow up and concluded my improvement was about 50 to 60% better for pain and overall mobility. I can now sit down in a squat position with both knees to put on my dog’s leash as well as do some yoga movements which I could not do before like a yogi squat. I also have more mobility in my affected knee during dance classes. Dr. Abassi explained that a second round of PRP would likely benefit based on the many patients he has seen and also his own personal experience with PRP. Although there are no guarantees, I feel that it’s worth it in the long run for my quality of life and being able to continue my passion for dance In my retirement. I had my second PRP today and hoping for even more improvement. The office is impeccable and the staff caring and competent. Worth looking into especially if your injury is holding you back from what you love to do or affecting daily routine.

Elbow Pain
Comprehensive evaluation and treatment of elbow injuries, from conservative care to arthroscopic surgery.
Elbow Injury Treatment
The elbow takes load in ways few other joints do, through gripping, lifting and throwing, and most elbow injuries involve a tendon or a ligament rather than the joint surface. When elbow pain or an injury limits that movement, even everyday tasks become difficult. At PRIME Orthopedics & Regenerative Center, Dr. Abbasi, board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, offers non-surgical, regenerative and arthroscopic treatment, with every plan designed to restore mobility.
Elbow Injuries We Treat
Tennis Elbow
Pain on the outer elbow from overloaded forearm tendons, usually brought on by repetitive gripping.
Biceps Tendon Tear
A tear of the tendon that attaches the biceps to the forearm just past the elbow, usually under a sudden heavy load.
UCL Tear (Tommy John Injury)
Damage to the ligament on the inside of the elbow, most common in throwers and often developing over many throws.
Elbow Stiffness
Loss of motion from thickened tissue or bone spurs within the joint.
Loose Fragments
Pieces of bone or cartilage within the joint, causing catching, locking or pain.
Elbow Arthritis
Wear of the joint surfaces, causing pain and stiffness.

Common Questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You may contact the office directly. If your insurance plan requires a referral, our staff will let you know.
Should I have imaging before my appointment?
It is not required. Please bring any existing X-rays or MRI results, and Dr. Abbasi will order additional imaging if needed.
Do you take insurance?
Most PPO plans are accepted for consultations and surgical care. Regenerative injections are paid for directly. Please call the office to confirm what applies to your plan.
Will I need surgery?
Not necessarily. Many elbow injuries are treated without surgery. Surgery is recommended when conservative treatment is not expected to be sufficient.
Do you treat throwing injuries?
Yes. Dr. Abbasi treats throwing injuries of the elbow, including UCL tears, and performs UCL reconstruction (Tommy John surgery) when the ligament needs to be rebuilt.
Is elbow surgery performed arthroscopically?
Many elbow procedures are. Elbow arthroscopy treats stiffness, loose fragments and tennis elbow through small incisions with a camera. Tendon and ligament repairs are performed through separate small incisions.
