I went to Doctor Abbasi after going to physical therapy for 30 sessions for a medial meniscus tear. The physical therapy definitely helped build strength but still had reduced range of motion and pain for my sport activity which is dancing (ballet, jazz). I wanted to give physical therapy a chance before considering PRP. After speaking with Dr Abbasi who is expertly knowledgeable, I decided to do my first round of PRP. It truly was a breeze, thanks to his medical assistants Karla and Kayla who assisted. Doctor Abassi is a pro at doing PRP. For me, it was as easy as getting a flu shot.. I went back a month later for follow up and concluded my improvement was about 50 to 60% better for pain and overall mobility. I can now sit down in a squat position with both knees to put on my dog’s leash as well as do some yoga movements which I could not do before like a yogi squat. I also have more mobility in my affected knee during dance classes. Dr. Abassi explained that a second round of PRP would likely benefit based on the many patients he has seen and also his own personal experience with PRP. Although there are no guarantees, I feel that it’s worth it in the long run for my quality of life and being able to continue my passion for dance In my retirement. I had my second PRP today and hoping for even more improvement. The office is impeccable and the staff caring and competent. Worth looking into especially if your injury is holding you back from what you love to do or affecting daily routine.

An operation that replaces the damaged elbow joint with an artificial hinged joint, for advanced arthritis and some fractures.
Elbow Arthritis Treatment
The elbow is a hinge where the upper arm bone meets the two bones of the forearm, and it places the hand wherever it needs to be, from the mouth to the floor. In arthritis the cartilage covering those surfaces wears away, and the joint becomes painful and stiff. Arthritis of the elbow can follow an old injury, can come from wear over time, or can be part of an inflammatory condition such as rheumatoid arthritis. A total elbow replacement replaces the damaged joint with an artificial hinge. At PRIME Orthopedics & Regenerative Center, Dr. Abbasi, board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, performs total elbow replacement.
Common Questions
Do I have to have surgery?
Not necessarily. Treatment begins with the most conservative appropriate option, and Dr. Abbasi recommends surgery only when he believes it is warranted.
Will I have limits on lifting afterward?
Yes. An elbow replacement is a mechanical hinge, and heavy or repeated lifting wears and loosens it. The operation carries a lifelong limit on how much that arm lifts, and the limit is explained before the operation, not after it.
Could arthroscopy be done instead?
Sometimes. Where the arthritis is at an earlier stage, removing the spurs and loose fragments that block movement arthroscopically is often the first operation considered, particularly for younger and more active people. Once the joint surfaces are worn away, arthroscopy has less to offer.
When can I use the arm for everyday tasks?
Light everyday use returns over the first weeks and months, as the wound heals and physical therapy restores movement. The timing is set at your follow-up visits rather than by the calendar.
Will the replacement need attention later?
An implant can wear or loosen over time, and it is checked with X-rays at follow-up. A replacement that has worn or loosened can be revised with a further operation.
Do you take insurance?
Most PPO plans are accepted for consultations and surgical care. Regenerative injections are paid for directly. Please call the office to confirm what applies to your plan.
